TRURO, N.S. – Pre-tournament hockey tickets for the upcoming World Junior A Challenge at the RECC will be available beginning Friday.

Two of the three pre-tournament games at the RECC are $10 per game or fans can buy the package deal for $15.

Those games, scheduled for Dec. 8, include the Truro Bearcats junior team against the Czech Republic at 3:30 p.m., followed by Canada East taking on the United States at 7:30 p.m.

The third pre-tournament game, between Canada West and Russia, will take place at the Amherst Stadium.

“It is a great honour for our entire organization to be involved in a pre-tournament game during the World Junior A Challenge, said Bearcats head coach Shawn Evans.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our players and a memory that they will hold forever.”

Evans will serve as associate coach for Canada East and will be joined by Bearcats equipment manager Steve Lindsey.

The World Junior A Challenge, from Dec. 10 to 16, features two Canadian teams, representing East and West, as well as four international entries vying for a gold medal.

Full tournament packages are $175 and are the only way to secure reserved seating. The package includes all 13 games, but does not include admission to the pre-tournament games.

All other ticket options will be general admission.

An evening game package, which includes a general admission ticket to all six evening games plus the gold medal game, scheduled for 3 p.m. on Dec. 16, will be available starting Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. for $99.50. These packages are limited.

On Dec. 1, all other general tickets will be available for purchase. These include single-game tickets at $15 per game for the preliminary round, quarterfinals and semifinals, $20 for the bronze-medal game and $25 for the gold-medal game, including taxes and fees.

Also on Dec. 1, fans can purchase a day pass for $25 that gives access to both games on any given day from Dec. 10-14. A Family 4-Pack will be available as well, giving a family of four access to any game from Dec. 10-14 for $49.50.

As a special thank-you, names of full-tournament package holders will be included on a rink board, which will be displayed in the RECC after the World Junior A Challenge to highlight their support for the tournament. In order to have their name included, fans must purchase their tournament packages by Nov. 13.
